Each player will be limited to 10 ship designs.
Once per turn, a player may choose to swap out one of their available designs for a new one.
Ships that were previously built stay in play. New ships can only be built from available designs.
Ship designs must conform to normal NMSS tournament rules with a few exceptions.
Maximum Fleet and ship size is limited by what a player can maintain in a region (32,000 Supply Units). Otherwise, there are no limits on ship size or fleet numbers.
If a player wishes to move ships to another region, the ship/fleet must meet the minimum 3,200 Supply Unit requirement. Each region also produces 3,200 SU worth of ships per turn. … You should probably keep this in mind when designing ships so your production and movement are efficient.
Obliterators are allowed, but the laser width will be reduced to avoid ‘magic’ core hits.
Tinkrell ships can have one generator for every 150P of their cost.
Stations and Spinning NOT allowed at all.
All ships must meet NMSS mobility requirements and have at least one weapon. Please see the NMSS Fleet Evaluation for minimum mobility requirements.
- – Any Sentinel ship shall not contain more than 18 melee spikes.
- – Terran Asteroid Thrusters (18P, 1000K thrust) will not be allowed.
- – Nuclear Option will not be allowed.
All ships must fit within the default maximum radius of 1,000. Adjustments will not be made to ships that exceed this size and they will simply not participate.
- Stacking is allowed.
- Each fleet shall be constructed from ships from only one faction.
- Each ship shall be constructed from parts from only one of the vanilla-playable factions. (the one you’ve chosen at the beginning of the game)
- All ship components should be part of the unlockable palette in the standard campaign. Feel free to build in the Sandbox if you choose, but make sure that the pieces you use are naturally unlockable.
- Ships shall be constructed from standard, unmodified blocks.
- Arena size will be 50,000.
- Resources will be Off.
- Friendly fire will be Off.
- Asteroids will be Off.
- Time Dilation Rule: In the interest of keeping things running smoothly, I will be testing your fleet in a battle against itself in a 120 physics updates/sec environment. If it takes more than 2 minutes to run a 1-minute round, I will reserve the right to veto your fleet.
- The physics engine during the tournament will be running at 90 frames per second, test your ships accordingly.
- The tournament will be conducted using the Live version of the game, currently 20161110.
Additionally, I’ll be using Splinter’s Graphics Overhaul and NMSS Tournament Mod for CVAR changes.
A block replacement mod will be used to adjust the width of the Obliterator laser.
If it is found that a ship accidentally makes it into play and does not meet the ship design rules, all examples of that ship will be immediately scrapped.
