The Seven Deadly Factions.
In Reassembly, you get seven default playable factions. Each faction has different blocks, weapons, and design challenges.
Quick over-view of the factions:
• The Terrans have no resource production, but they are good all-around.
• The Farmers are weak militarily, but have massive resource production. Only the Tinkrel are easier to play.
• The Reds are weak … that’s just their thing. Play them if you want a challenge.
• The Tinkrel are the best faction in the game – hands-down. Solar panels produce loads of resources, and modular guns are super-powerful.
• The Crystalline are strong, but slow. They don’t have resource production, but their parts are cheap.
• The Bees are weak, but their drones are strong, and they do have some resource production.
• The Sentinels are unstoppable at close-range, but their parts are the most expensive. Armor spikes and nukes are super-strong.
Everyone starts-out with the Terrans, but once you’ve killed 1000P worth of ships from an enemy faction, that faction will be unlocked to be playable for a new game. If you want to cheat and have these factions playable without killing all the ships, there’s a tutorial here.
You’ll also notice that the factions are not balanced. In Reassembly, the different factions are provided to allow for different play-styles and challenges. Variety is the goal, not balance. Some factions will be a lot easier to play than others, that’s just the way it is. Try them each out to see what’s right for you.
